Time Flies!

silk paper collage: Spring Fields
Where do my days go? This past week, Anna and Tim went to entymology camp. I thought that Bekah , Liz and I would get lots of school done. We didn't. My old boss (Father Vu) has left town now (he will be attached to an air base in Colorado) and my new boss (Fr. Tim Butler) is now in command. It will be rather a big change - going from Asian communication to that of a true Yankee!
I've got 8 cards up at etsy.com. None have sold, but people are looking at them!
Bekah and I are learning about Asperger's syndrome. She's actually fine with the diagnosis (so far - sometimes the fallout comes later).

I made yet another blueberry pie today. For some reason, the birds just NOW figured out that the blueberries were ripe. Lucky for me! The picture is from the beginning of blueberry season.

Just stuff

I've been sorta busy. Anna and Tim are gone to entymology camp this week. I'm attempting to get the twinkies busy again with school.

and I put several of my silk paper collage cards up on Etsy. my store name is http://mythreemarias.etsy.com/.

I've got to sell some of these just to pay for the supplies to make MORE paper!

So if you are in need of unique cards (they are blank inside, for your own message) , or if you'd like a small frameable artwork (they are mounted on watercolor paper, then attached to the card), check out these and the others I've got listed.

Hopefully I'll get some more landscape cards done. I like those better, but it requires more work. Cute is easy; sophisticated is challenging. I also have to have more subtle colors for landscapes, and I'm running out of undyed silk. Which is part of why I need to sell some work!

Red Friday

Brand new plum jam. Nice and tart.

On the way back in from picking blueberries, I saw these sticks laid out on the driveway. Hmmm. Aliens?

Brown Tuesday

Be Bop a ReBop a Rhubarb Pie! Is there a more beautiful brown than homemade pie crust?

Then again, I do adore my Monster Morris Chair. It's pressed oak, and delightfully gargoylish in expression.

a lovely brown egg and a nest Anna found. The egg was, obviously, not laid by the bird who built the nest!

My nephew is famous!

My nephew Drew White is a published author. Imagine!

His poem and picture are towards the bottom. The title is "Mushrooms". I love his illustration.

Tommy toes!
This is old - a postcard that I made for my Dad, whose name just happens to be Tom. I just found the picture, and I do love this.

Bekah and Liz are in New York City with thier Nana. I have no pictures of the trip to post, because I'm at home alone with Anna. Tim just happened to schedule a business trip to NYC at the same time as their trip, which I think he shouldn't have done. There's nothing like a parent joining in on your fun.

So far, their reaction is that NYC is BIG and SMELLY. grin...

Last night they went to the American Ballet Theater, to see Cinderella. They've been to the American Girl store, to St. Patrick's Cathedral, on a major tour around Manhattan, and I don't know what else. They're staying at the Yale Club. It sounds - and probably is - veddy exclusive. I can't wait to hear what they think of the Big Apple!

I'm painting, and drawing. Painting some of the few pears on my heirloom tree. The tree has some sort of disease - about half of it died back. Anna and I are picking blueberries, also. The berries are great this year. And eating Chilton Co., Alabama peaches. What bliss!

Anna's new doctor is changing her meds. I'm nervous, as this is the first time we've changed her medication since she got back from the hospital last year, but it seems that Geodon can have an effect on the heart. At least we're not doing this during the school year!
